How It Works
Getting a SimpleSite for your business is quick and, yes, simple! To get started, please pick up or download a copy of our SimpleSites Order Form. Then complete these 5 easy steps:
Step 1: Choose a Design
You can preview a variety of design templates on our web site. Each design has two or more color schemes and font sets to help you create a unique look for your business.
Step 2: Determine the Pages You Want
Your SimpleSite includes five web documents. Of course you’ll have a Home page. We highly recommend that you have a Contact Us page because the number one complaint cited by web users is difficulty finding contact information on web sites.
You might also want to consider an About Us page which can be quite effective, especially for small businesses. It gives you a place to introduce yourself to new customers, including: what you do, how long you’ve been in business, your specialties, what sets you apart from the competition, your mission statement, your background, and who you are.
A Products or Services page, depending on your type of business, is a good place to highlight your current offerings. It's also a great place to use some of your graphics.
Don’t feel limited to these choices, however! You can use your 5 pages for anything you want! Here are some other ideas:
- Portfolio
- Sales
- Events
- Price List
- Testimonials
- Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Once you’ve decided on the pages you want on your web site, you’re ready for step 3.
Step 3: Gather Your Content
Now that you know what pages you want, you can begin gathering your content, that is, the text and pictures you want to use in your web site. Don’t worry about formatting the text, just put it in some kind of electronic format such as a plain text file or word processing document. We can read most file types.
Your SimpleSite also includes five images. Don’t worry about cropping or resizing them. Just get us the images and we’ll take care of that for you. We can handle most formats, including: JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PDF, and more.
You can burn your files to a CD or bring them in on a USB drive and we’ll make a copy. There’s space on the SimpleSites Order Form for you to list the files you’re providing and tell us how they should be used in your web site.
Step 4: Provide Contact Information
Once you’ve got your content together, all you need to do is provide your contact information so that we can get in touch with you. If you already have a web hosting service, we’ll need to know your:
- Domain Name
- FTP Address, Username & Password
If you don’t already have a domain name and/or web hosting service, we can help you acquire one. Simply indicate that desire on the form and we’ll contact you to discuss options.
Step 5: Place Your Order
To place your order, just bring us your completed SimpleSites Order Form, your content, and $550. We’ll begin work as soon as possible. You’ll have a web site up and working for your business in no time!
